For our client based in Anglophone Africa, we are seeking a highly skilled Chief Geologist. This pivotal role involves leading the geological strategy for exploration and development projects within a well-funded junior mining company known for its excellent work culture.

Rotation: FIFO 6/2About the Role:
The Chief Geologist will oversee all geological aspects of the company’s operations, focusing on early exploration and pre-development phases. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will design exploration programs, manage technical data, and provide strong leadership to the project team while ensuring full regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all geological aspects of exploration and development projects, ensuring technical excellence and strategic alignment.

Design, implement, and manage comprehensive exploration programs, including budget management and logistical planning.

Review, interpret, and manage geological data to drive decision-making and project advancement.

Monitor and mentor project staff, providing technical training and professional development opportunities to build a high-performing team.

Report project progress, technical findings, and resource updates to the Managing Director and senior management.

Ensure strict compliance with local mining laws, environmental regulations, and corporate policies.

Manage QA/QC protocols and maintain the integrity of the geological database.
About You:

Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.

Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the mining industry.

Extensive experience in early-stage exploration and pre-development projects.

Specific commodity experience in mineral sands and/or rare earths is essential.

Proven leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and developing technical staff.

Strong data management and interpretation skills.

Ability to work effectively in remote locations and cross-cultural environments.
