For our client, an emerging gold producer based in North Africa, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mine Engineer. This pivotal role is essential for advancing a significant gold project from feasibility through to full production.

About the Role:

The Senior Mine Engineer will play a crucial role in the development of a new open pit gold mine, from late-stage studies through construction and into operation. The position will initially be based residentially in a major city office, transitioning to the mine site as the project advances. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the full lifecycle of a new mining operation, offering a long-term career path.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide key technical input for Feasibility Studies (FS), including mine design, scheduling, and cost modelling.
• Develop detailed open pit mine plans and production schedules to optimise the ore body.
• Contribute to geotechnical analysis and design parameters to ensure pit stability.
• Support project planning and execution activities during the construction and commissioning phases.
• Transition into the operations team to provide ongoing mine engineering, planning, and reconciliation support.
• Liaise effectively with geology, processing departments, and external contractors to ensure integrated planning.
• Ensure all engineering designs and plans are practical, safe, and economically viable.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from a reputable university.
• A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in open pit mining engineering.
• Specific operational and technical experience in gold mining is essential.
• Demonstrated exposure across the full project lifecycle: technical studies, construction, and operations.
• Strong technical skills in mine design, scheduling, and cost estimation software.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
• Experience working in the North Africa or Middle East regions would be a significant advantage.
