For our client based in Europe, we are currently hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for their battery recycling project. The project has now entered the DFS (Detailed Feasibility Study) phase and the Senior Mechanical Engineer will support the project by providing mechanical engineering expertise for the construction and commissioning of the plant.

Responsibilities :

– Strengthen the project teams in the fields of industrial mechanical equipment, piping and boiler-making, and industrial installations in order to guarantee the industrialisation of the process developed in-house.

– Monitor all the industrialisation studies carried out by the main engineering department in its area of expertise. Checking the choice of standards, verifying compliance with industry standards and participating in the choice of technologies and materials to ensure that production targets are met in terms of safety, quality and productivity.

– Ensuring that HSE and CSR requirements are taken into account in process and technology choices.

– Assisting the procurement teams by defining the technical specifications for related equipment and materials.

– Taking part in project coordination meetings with the Process and R&D teams.

– Participating in the drafting and development of design standards for the future plant.

– Participating in benchmarking and monitoring existing standards in the industrial sector concerned.

– In coordination with the engineering manager and the procurement manager, participating in the alignment of service providers and suppliers and analysing their bids.

– Analysing and validating the deliverables produced by the main engineering department within the scope concerned.

Profile :

• Engineering school or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the chemical, oil & gas, water treatment, or energy industries, preferably within engineering or process equipment suppliers.
• Proficiency in engineering processes (deliverables, planning, design).
• Project execution knowledge (equipment selection, design, manufacturing oversight, testing, unit startup).
• Fluent in French and English.
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
• Teamwork and collaborative spirit.
• Adaptability, flexibility and versality
