Mining Manager – Mozambique

For client, a leading Mineral Sands producer, we are looking for an experienced Mining Manager for a FIFO assignment in Mozambique. Mineral Sands experience is a must.

Description:

  • Responsible for maximising throughput and recovery in the production of HMC in the most cost effective manner possible whilst optimising throughout the mining operation the utilisation of plant and equipment;
  • Responsible for the development a very detailed three to 12 month look ahead plan;
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of a detailed capital and operating budget.

Ensure the definition of key operational and performance parameters for all areas of Ensure the definition of key operational and performance parameters for all areas of responsibility throughout the Mine, communicating these standards and ensuring compliance to these by direct reports and other stakeholders

  • Ensure the development of a culture throughout the Mine of accountability for delivery of performance to plan.
  • Responsible for the development of the required processes to deliver a clear commercial basis for all decisions that are made
  • Ensure the processes, systems, tools and competencies to ensure effective problem definition and problem solving outcomes are delivered for all areas of accountability.
  • Responsible for the development of the required cost control systems and processes throughout the Mine and ensuring that the required level of compliance with these is achieved
  • Ensure the identification and definition of the required processes, systems, tools, resources, capabilities and skills to enable the effective operation of the Mine and ensure the delivery of budget requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring the training and development requirements of personnel operating in the mine are identified and plans established to deliver these within the agreed timeframes
  • Responsible for the establishment of the required performance management processes throughout the mine and the implementation of these. These will include but not be limited to daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual processes.

EH&S compliance and management for the team and all people working in the area

  • Ensure the definition of the requirements for effective EH&S management and compliance throughout the mining operation (policies, procedures, processes, guidelines, standards and direction). These must comply with company policy, legal and statutory EH&S requirements
  • Establish the processes for the communication of the requirements for effective EH&S management and compliance
  • Ensure that the requirements for effective EH&S management and compliance are clearly communicated and understood by direct reports and all personnel operating in the Mine (employees, contractors and other personnel). Ensure through appropriate direction and supervision that the EH&S standards are adhered to
  • Ensure through own personal behaviour absolute compliance with EH&S requirements, setting an example to all employees regarding their expected standards of compliance with EH&S requirements.

Senior Mining Engineer

For our client, a leading mining organisation, we are searching for a Senior French-speaking Mining Engineer. The role will be residential based in Pacific Region.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent participates directly in the establishment of the various phases of the budget, in consultation with the Head of Center, the head of the geology department, Mine Director and the various other officials of the Center.
• It plays a leading role in the definition of exploitation sequences, mining studies as part of the 5-year plan, the mining process and the mining map, which implies studies and proposals, particularly in terms of investment. For this, the incumbent keeps himself informed of the evolution of the techniques (readings, visits of the mines, internships).
• He must keep a watch on the concepts of mining.
• Implements the means allowing the center to achieve these objectives of production.
• Ensures that the manipulated and the production are well in line with the projects;
• Actively participates in the safety approach, raises staff awareness of safety objectives, and proposes and makes arrangements to improve the working conditions and the protection of its agents. Conducts causal analyzes of dysfunction.
• Establishes and promotes management tools (monthly reports, daily follow-ups).
• Leads his team of managers. He works permanently with his mine manager (who runs the day-to-day operations) and with his operations engineer (who runs the mining plan).

Senior Mining Engineer

• Complies with QHSE practices with a view to continuous improvement

Operation Mine Manager

For our client, a leading mining organisation, we are searching for an Operation Director based Mexico. The role will be based in the North of Mexico, and will be a residential position.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the business plan of the mining unit, ensuring that they are aligned with the corporate plan and sustainability.

Senior Mine Planning Engineer

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead a team of individuals and manage design work required for the development and production of the underground. Ultimately accountable for the timely delivery of designs and their accuracy.
  • Preparing short, medium and long-term schedules that aim to meet or exceed site objectives and support the long-term mining plan. Identify contingency plans to overcome shortfalls in production and development. Ensure plan is appropriate for equipment and manpower levels, and that it does not exceed the ventilation or ore movement system constraints.
  • Coordinate with mine operations on a daily basis to ensure the plan is being adhered to and to minimize disruptions. Complete regular variance reports and stope status reports.
  • Set goals and objectives for Engineering, Training, and Process Improvement. Ensure areas of responsibility meet goals and objectives by providing systems, resources, and training as needed.
  • Provide regular field supervision of engineers, technician, and miners in the underground mine.
  • Optimally manage human resource matters (vacations, absenteeism, quality and quantity of work, etc).
  • Oversee the work schedules of assigned personnel to meet completion dates, technical specifications, and budget limits. – Assist with the estimation and preparation of budgets.
  • Complete developments and Stopes dilutions analysis on monthly basis.
  • Prepare life of mine reserves via Surpac and generate life of mine plans using MineSched on annual basis.
  • Complete reserves block model-mining analysis.
  • Complete reports as required.
  • Participate in completing the mine’s monthly reconciliation report.
  • Lead the cutoff grade annual calculation.
  • Prepare and create NI 43-101, JORC and technical reports as a Qualified Person (QP) / Competent Person (CP).

  • Conçoit les designs miniers de détail nécessaires
  • A la planification des travaux de la carrière préparatoire de l’ouverture du gisement incluant accès, gradins, gestion des eaux, verses et autres
  • A la séquence minière d’ouverture du gisement (verse(s) initiale(s), accès, gradins, le système de gestion de l’eau…)
  • Aux séquences minières pour la planification moyen-long terme du gisement
  • Participe à l’élaboration de projets d’aménagement (ouvrages, pistes, route, verses…)

Ingénieur Planification Minière

Pour notre client, une compagnie minière leader sur le plan mondial dans son domaine, nous recherchons un Ingénieur Planification Minière qui sera basé sur site en Afrique de l’Ouest.   • Réaliser la planification minière du gisement dans un premier temps de façon à comprendre les paramètres propres pour le nouveau gisement.
  • Réaliser la planification minière conjointe long terme des deux gisements du site.
  • Participer à l’étude de flux qui permettra de dimensionner les niveaux de stocks de minerai et la future politique de gestion de la qualité.
  • Participer à l’établissement du plan long terme de gestion des stériles de la société.
  • Participer à l’établissement du dimensionnement technique de l’exploitation minière de l’organisation.

Ingénieur d’Etudes Minières

Pour notre client, une compagnie minière leader sur le plan mondial dans son domaine, nous recherchons un Ingénieur d’Etudes Minières qui sera basé sur site en Afrique de l’Ouest. Le poste s’inscrit dans un plan d’investissement et d’expansion important, et aura donc un niveau d’influence élevé sur la suite des opérations.

Responsabilités:

  • Étudie et supervise les travaux miniers relatifs à la carrière préparatoire de l’ouverture du gisement
  • Collecte et détermine les paramètres miniers dimensionnant les équipements et les installations
  • Réalise les études minières de détail nécessaires à l’ouverture du gisement
  • Fourni les informations nécessaires à la mise à jour des réserves du gisement
  • Participe aux études de qualification du minerai tout-venant nécessaires au dimensionnement de la nouvelle laverie
  • Participe à la planification minière conjointe de la mine existante et de la nouvelle mine
  • Participe à la collecte des données géotechniques et hydrogéologiques
  • Participe au positionnement des installations fixes sur le gisement (station de concassage, transporteur…)
  • Participe à l’établissement du schéma directeur et du planning d’ouverture de la nouvelle mine
  • Participe à la définition des données d’entrée des Études d’Impact Environnementales

Profile:

  • Diplômé (e) d’une école d’ingénieur des mines avec des connaissances en design minier. Une expérience professionnelle de 5 ans est requise dans une mine à ciel ouvert, une carrière de granulats ou autre exploitation en gradin.
  • Maitriser la suite Office, notamment Excel
  • Maitriser le logiciel Surpac (de préférence) ou un équivalent est un plus
  • Avoir une première expérience dans le séquençage minier est indispensable
  • Avoir utilisé un logiciel de planification minière type XPAC, Datamine ou autre
  • Maitriser un logiciel SIG
  • Maitriser l’anglais technique
  • Avoir une expérience sur les levés topographiques est un plus
  • Avoir le permis de conduite B
  • Faire preuve de qualités relationnelles, de diplomatie et un esprit d’équipe
  • Une grande disponibilité
  • Faire preuve d’autonomie, d’un esprit d’initiative et une grande polyvalence
