Geologist – Bosnia

For our client, a leading exploration organisation listed in Europe, we are searching for a Geologist with experience of working in the Balkans region. The role will be on a residential basis, and will report into the senior management (and/or other board members), and will take full responsibility for geology-related operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the exploration goals are achieved on time and within budget
  • Identify exploration opportunities
  • Prepare and oversee operational budgets to evaluate the economic, and environmental efficiency and feasibility of the mineral extraction process
  • Supervise the diamond drilling operations
  • Oversee and manage the mapping of locations where the mineral deposits would be located
  • Assessing extraction risks, and logging of results
  • Prepare technical reports for use by mining, engineering and management personnel
  • Overseeing and devising solutions around issues related to land reclamation and water and air pollution

Profile:

  • At least 6 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of resource modelling software
  • Knowledge of Micromine would be an advantage
  • Working local language skills are essential
  • Dispose of a track record of successful exploration and evaluation
  • Knowledge of Bosnian legislation is essential

Argentina Country Manager

For our client, a leading and ambitious mining organisation, we are searching for a Country Manager. The role will be residential based in the North of Argentina.

Responsibilities:

• Consult geological maps and aerial photographs to advise on site selection
• Assist with the design of built structures, using specialised computer software or calculations
• Collate data and produce reports
• Oversee the progress of specific contracts
• Plan detailed field investigations by drilling and analysing samples of deposits/bedrock
• Supervise site and ground investigations
• Visit new project sites
• Make recommendations on the proposed use of a site and provide information
• Advise on problems such as subsidence
• Manage staff, including other engineering geologists, geotechnical engineers, consultants and contractors
• Attend professional conferences and represent the company or organisation at other events.
• Work on a multi-disciplinary team to identify and accelerate value adding projects
• Expand and refine interpretations in existing plays and fields, as well as generate new development opportunities
• Generate probabilistic and deterministic resource estimates
• Apply leading technologies as appropriate to reduce identified risk factors and more quickly realize value additions

Profile:

• A degree (MSc or PhD) in a Geology or Geophysics-related discipline, ideally from an Argentine University (or South American).
• Must possess understanding of geological concepts and techniques.
• Must possess good numerical, problem solving, communication and organisational skills.
• Fluent in English is required and Native- Level of Spanish
• Demonstrable experience and Knowledge with Argentinian Mine regulation/ legislation.
• Individuals who can work both remotely and in large project teams.
• Experience in gold and copper.
• Entrepreneurial and ambitious
